FAQ

WHAT IS A FILLER BASED ON HYALURONIC ACID?
Hyaluronic acid is one of the fundamental components of the connective tissues of humans and other mammals. It gives the skin its’ particular density, resistance and shape retention properties.

Filler (from English to fill) is a transparent visco-elastic gel based on purified cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which in Aesthetic Medicine aims to achieve aesthetic improvements of patient’s appearance.

Because it is the quality of the filler that allows us to obtain a natural result without complications and allows us to have a precise control in the labial area while injecting it.

Fillers based on hyaluronic acid are made up by the same molecules that are produced in our bodies, apart from lidocaine, which some fillers contain in minimal quantities and in rare cases may cause allergy.

There may be slight swelling of the labial tissue of mouth due to both, the anesthetic’s effect and the water recollection by the hyaluronic acid molecules.

In rare cases, micro-bruises may occur due to the mechanical action of the needle that passes through the capillaries at the time of product injection, although they disappear in a few days.
  • The treatment is minimally invasive and you can immediately resume your usual activities with some precautions:
  • Do not expose yourself to any heat sources (lamps, sun exposure, sauna, hot drinks) for at least 48 hours after treatment.
  • Do not practice excessive physical exercise.
  • Do not take antiplatelet medications, such as aspirin or others for the next 48 hours.
  • Do not rub the labial area of mouth for the next 24 hours.

Treatment is not carried out in the presence of Herpes Labialis in acute phase, during pregnancy and lactation, in the presence of some autoimmune diseases, as they could be worsened as a result of the procedure.
